A England Perceval and OPI Take The Stage

Today I was crazy, dangerous and reckless. I let my five year-old nephew pick my nail polish colours. I asked and he responded "RED AND ORANGE!". What does one do with red and orange I ask you?? A stylized French, of course!

The colours today used were A England's Perceval from their Mythicals collection and OPI Take the Stage from their Burlesque collection. I love love love both these colours. Perceval is such a gorgeous, vibrant red. It almost glows from within with a hint of gold. Take the Stage is a perfect shimmery orange, almost bronze. Put them together... and something happens. I'm not quite sure, but it's something!

No flash - you can sort of see the touch of gold in the Perceval bottle

Although I love the colours separately, but together I'm not feeling it. If I did a solid colour pattern on alternate nails, perhaps, but I am not loving this french tip combo. But my nephew seemed happy with it, so who am I to judge?

Zoya Indigo Glitter Gradient

Morning!

It was my friend's birthday party yesterday and I decided something FUN and distinct needed to be on my nails. But where to start? I asked my mother for a colour selection ("Blue! Blues are nice."), I went with a blue base. I saw Zoya Indigo at my local Trade Secrets some time ago, and FELL IN LOVE. It is a deep midnight blue shimmery base, with micro holographic sparkles. WANT. Therefore, I got! Ha!

Alas, it is a little disappointing on the nail. The glitter doesn't show up prominently enough so instead of star-lit night nails, you get a nice blue with some occasional sparkle. Not bad but not what I was hoping for from this bottle of broken promises.

I recently got a bottle of Hologram Top Coat from Northern Lights/INM. I layered it over the blue and it is stunning! It adds a lovely layer of sparkle to make starry-night effect more prominent. But even that wasn't enough for my party  nails.

Enter.... OPI Crown Me Already! from their Miss America collection. I decided to do a glitter gradient with it. The results were wonderful!

Finally, the pictures:

The bottle holds such promise!

Overall, I really enjoyed this combo. I felt so sparkly!

Zoya Neeka and Konad m64

I had trouble deciding on a colour today. I wanted something fun, but a little muted for winter (the weather here is depressingly cold). Enter Zoya Neeka. This is a lovely muted/dirty dark lilac with silver microglitter (more of a shimmer). It is from their Smoke and Mirror Collection.

I wanted to spice it up a little, so I got one of my Konad plates, m64, and used the flower stamp. And what colour goes perfect with purple? A nice silver, of course!

No flash. Sorry for the blurry. I might need a better camera. :(

With flash. The design comes up juuuust nicely.
Suffice it to say, I LOVE this combo! Purple and silver are the bee's knees, y'all. This flower design is almost lacy and just so delicate. Makes my class-less self look almost (ALMOST) classy, until I use these gorgeous nails to make a rude gesture. Then the jig is up but UNTIL THEN I AM A CLASSY LADY.

*Ahem*

Carry on, nothing to see here.

OPI and Konad

I've recently become quite interested in Konad stamping nail art. It seems so rife with possibility, I have to try!

So here I have Konad plate m57 - it has zebra stripes, leopard spots, fishnet grid, and some lacy bars. This one is pretty popular. I used zebra with black Konad polish. This is over 2 coats of OPI DS Signature, a cute holographic pink.

Konad has a lot of potential, but I definitely need lots of practice! I also have huge nails, according to these stampers. I would get about 75% of the nail in one go, and then top it up afterwards. I also also might be a bit too clumsy for Konad, the thick polish got everywhere on my hands. I tried to clean up my cuticles after, but this was the best I could do.

All in all, I see a lot of potential with Konad. I got a few plates plus some BundleMonster plates and an assortment of Konad colours. This turned out to be rather adorable!
