Zoya Blaze and Julep Vivian

A quick Christmas-inspired mani today. I love the combo of red and gold. So regal and joyful! So Ihave combined Zoya Blaze (a gorgeous red holo) and Julep Vivian (a fantastic gold glitter.)

I decided to buck against the trend and do an accnt nail on my pinkie. I know, I'm a rebel.

Merry Christmas!

Julep Ivy

Oh my.

This polish makes me happier than an elephant on a trampoline!

For real, this might be my new favourite colour. A base of sheer, shimmery blue but with purple duchrome effect and and and... I'm essentially an elephant on a trampoline!

Presenting Julep Ivy:

*Swoon* This is 3 coats as the polish is quite sheer. I couldn't stop staring at my nails! Look at that purple accent! Look at it!!

I might be getting too worked up about this. But I love it so!

Side note, I took these pictures at work because the day has become so short that it's too dark before I leave in the morning and too dark when I get home! Stupid winter.

Ombre Red

Hombre... for men.

That cowboy has nothing on Joey! NOTHING!

Where was I? Yes! Ombre nails! My sister didn't know what ombre was so she called them my "Hombre... for men" nails. Friends 4-Ever!

You know, when I'm trying to do an ombre manicure, I start thinking about how few colours I have. Hear me out! To do a proper ombre effect, the colours all have to have the same finish. I can't mix cremes, shimmers, foils and glitters. That would be silly. So I may have a billion reds, but I don't have a billion red cremes. And we all know that is a VERY big difference.

Hee hee, Hombre... for men. I'll stop now.

I used:

Pinkie: A England Lancelot
Ring: Essie Wicked
Middle: OPI Skyfall
Index: China Glaze Adventure Red-y
Thumb: Julep Delauney

*Note, Lancelot is a REALLY REALLY dark red. So dark that you can only see any hint of red under extreme light. But I still call it red!

Rainbow Nails!!

I have a secret (it's not a secret): I love colour waaaay too much. True fact: My space looks like a rainbow threw up all over it. So I decided to try doing a rainbow across my nails because rainbows are full of colour and we've established I love colour and I'm am a little bit crazy and wooo! Colour!

Ahem.

Check 'em out, 'kay?

Also, I stuck some glitter on the colours as well because that's how I roll.

Also also, check out some of the new Nicole by OPI Selena Gomez polishes! Some colours and glitters are hiding in there :)

Left Hand:

Pinkie: Julep Kelly, Nicole by OPI Inner Sparkle (from the Selena Gomez Collection)
Ring: China Glaze Wicked Style, Sephora by OPI What's Your Poison
Middle: OPI Kennebunk Port, OPI Gettin' Miss Piggy with It
Index: Sephora + Pantone Tangerine Tango Creme and Glitter
Thumb: Nicole by OPI Hit the Lights, Nicole by OPI Kissed at Midnight (both from the Selena Gomez Collection)

 Right Hand:

Thumb: OPI Jade is the New Black, OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air

Middle: OPI Ogre the Top Blue, OPI Gone Gonzo
Ring: OPI Dutcha Ya Just Love OPI, Orly Ultra Violet
Pinkie: OPI Honk if You Love OPI, Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance

*Phew*! That was a lot. As my friends pointed out, not only do I have enough colours for a cohesive rainbow, I also have enough *matching glitters*. I am just that cool.

Maybelline Denim Dash and China Glaze Lorelai's Tiara

Ever go through old things and find useful stuff you totally forgot you had? I do, all the time.
I was going through my pictures folder and found some pictures I had completely over looked. But I will give them their moment in the sun!

Today I have Maybelline Denim Dash from their Color Show collection. This is an EXCELLENT blue jeans facsimile. It's a matte finish too!

Then I decided to try an accent nail with China Glaze Lorelai's Tiara from their Eye Candy 3D Glitters collection. So sparkly!

But it looked out of place next to the matte Denim Dash so I covered it with Essie's Matte About You.

Pretty funk-ay, non? This was a fun manicure. I have to remember Matte About You More often. It gives such interesting new takes on manicures!

Deborah Lippmann Cleopatra in New York

"My dear Marc Antony, I'm just going to pop into Saks for a few little things..."

Cleopatra would have OWNED New York had she seen it. Her triumphant parade into Rome would have been NOTHING compared to her sashaying around New York's elite. Bergdorf Goodman and Tiffany's would open up the store for her specially, is what I'm saying here.

So a nail polish called "Cleopatra in New York" has to DELIVER, you dig? Can't cheap out on Cleopatra. She can and will haunt you from the grave. She's just that cool. Enter Deborah Lippmann...

This polish is perfect. Gold and lots of it. In a black sheer base that leads to wonderful layering. It is chic, expensive, extravagant and a touch gaudy. This is Cleopatra in New York!

Lots of pictures because I love it:

Look at that depth! Look at that gold!

My only quibble is that these types of polishes are horrible to get off. The base comes off but the glitter sticks like a beast to your nails. Definitely need to do the foil method for this one. But it's ok, since it's worth it :)
