OPI Stay the Night

When I heard OPI and Mariah Carey had teamed up to do a collection I was waaaay too excited. The queen of pink and glitter and too-much-muchness was getting a nail collection? Yes, please!

Unfortunately, the regular colours did not catch my eye, but this new 'Liquid Sand' thing that OPI is releasing did. It is essentially a matte glitter, but matte to the MAX. I like these a lot.

For your consideration: Stay the Night. Black jelly-like base with black and pink glitter. This is three coats, but you can get away with two.

The pink really pokes through. And it mixes really well with the black. I approve, OPI. I approve.

Maybelline Denim Dash and China Glaze Lorelai's Tiara

Ever go through old things and find useful stuff you totally forgot you had? I do, all the time.
I was going through my pictures folder and found some pictures I had completely over looked. But I will give them their moment in the sun!

Today I have Maybelline Denim Dash from their Color Show collection. This is an EXCELLENT blue jeans facsimile. It's a matte finish too!

Then I decided to try an accent nail with China Glaze Lorelai's Tiara from their Eye Candy 3D Glitters collection. So sparkly!

But it looked out of place next to the matte Denim Dash so I covered it with Essie's Matte About You.

Pretty funk-ay, non? This was a fun manicure. I have to remember Matte About You More often. It gives such interesting new takes on manicures!

Orly Skinny Dip and OPI Divine Swine

Morning (er, Afternoon!)

Summer summer summer! Time for neons! A nice blue neon, like this Orly Skinny Dip, part of their 2012 summer collection "Feel the Vibe." And I have felt the vibe! It felt funny. But resulted in an excellent bright blue neon!

Skinny Dip - this is two coats, and could have used another as you can see by the bald spots :( Otherwise, it is excellent consistency. This dries in the typical neon fashion: rubbery matte.

Did I ever tell you how much I love glitter gradients? BECAUSE I LOVE GLITTER GRADIENTS. They are a cinch for me to do (eventually I'll get a feel for the other kind for regular polish and a makeup sponge) so I tend to do them a lot when I need a little something-something for my mani.

Enter: OPI Divine Swine from their Muppet collection (which is full of happy glitters!). I did a 'reverse' gradient, from the nail bed rather than the tip. I'm a rebel, dontcha know.

Wheeeee! I loved how this turned out. Makes me happy :)

What combos make you happy?
