It is that most delightful time of the year! When Toronto ceases to be such a barren wasteland of dooooooom and the sun comes back to remind us of how awesome it is. Did you know the sun actually imparts heat?? Somehow, I forget this every winter. Also, it's Easter and that means delicious, delicious Easter food!
But first, fancy nails are needed!
For this weekend's Easter festivities, I did egg designs on one hand:
Ugh, so cute! I used:
OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls for the base
Pinky: OPI Can't Find My Czechbook blue, and Nicole by OPI Naturally Pink
Ring: OPI Can't Find my Czechbook blue and Julep Simone purple
Middle: Julep Simone purple and Zoya Neely green
Index: Zoya Neely green and Julep Teri orange
Thumb: Julep Teri orange and Zoya Piaf yellow
I decided to do something a little different for my other hand, and did a swirly-watercolour design.
I used the same colours as the other hand. I put big drops of colour on the nail, then used a small brush to swirl it around. Totally reminds me of a watercolour painting!
I really like how these turned out! Very Spring-y!

OPI Take the Stage
OPI Take the Stage is from their Burlesque Collection. This collection really sucked me into polish. I saw the collection in a magazine (you know the ads OPI does...) and I HAD TO HAVE IT. All of them. No negotiation. This was a collection pure shimmers and glitters. I wasn't just picking up random colours from the drugstore or Trade Secrets. I was going to get that whole collection and I was going to love it, dammit. No one can stop me!
That's right, it's time for another
!
So many years and how many bottles later and Take the Stage is STILL an excellent orange. Look at it!
A rich, shimmery bronze orange. This is two coats, but I think it could have used another. When not under extreme close-up scrutiny, the polish seems more opaque.
Love u 4-vah, Burlesque collection!

Rainbow Nails!!
I have a secret (it's not a secret): I love colour waaaay too much. True fact: My space looks like a rainbow threw up all over it. So I decided to try doing a rainbow across my nails because rainbows are full of colour and we've established I love colour and I'm am a little bit crazy and wooo! Colour!
Ahem.
Check 'em out, 'kay?
Also, I stuck some glitter on the colours as well because that's how I roll.
Also also, check out some of the new Nicole by OPI Selena Gomez polishes! Some colours and glitters are hiding in there :)
Left Hand:
Pinkie: Julep Kelly, Nicole by OPI Inner Sparkle (from the Selena Gomez Collection)
Ring: China Glaze Wicked Style, Sephora by OPI What's Your Poison
Middle: OPI Kennebunk Port, OPI Gettin' Miss Piggy with It
Index: Sephora + Pantone Tangerine Tango Creme and Glitter
Thumb: Nicole by OPI Hit the Lights, Nicole by OPI Kissed at Midnight (both from the Selena Gomez Collection)
Right Hand:
Thumb: OPI Jade is the New Black, OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air
Index: OPI Fly, Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe
Middle: OPI Ogre the Top Blue, OPI Gone Gonzo
Ring: OPI Dutcha Ya Just Love OPI, Orly Ultra Violet
Pinkie: OPI Honk if You Love OPI, Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance
*Phew*! That was a lot. As my friends pointed out, not only do I have enough colours for a cohesive rainbow, I also have enough *matching glitters*. I am just that cool.

Color Club Sparkle and Soar
I just got back from a lovely vacation to Washington DC. Soooo many museums and monuments. SO MUCH KNOWLEDGE CRAMMED INTO MY BRAIN.
Anyhoo, here is Color Club's Sparkle and Soar from their Take Wing collection. This was a collection of glorious glass flecks. Lurrrve them. Sparkle and Soar is a lovely bright orange that camera could not capture properly if its life depended on it. I'm not mad. *Sigh* I need a new camera.
BACK TO THE POLISH. The formula was decent, but sheer. I'm wearing two coats here and it could definitely use another one. Maybe two. But look! It's so cheerful!
One good shot, rest cruddy. Ugh. Still, it's a gorgeous colour. Try it out!
Cheers!

HITS Demeter
A quickie 'Holo' (Holographic) to show you. This is Demeter from HITS, a Brazilian company, from their Olimpo line. The colours are all named after the Greek Pantheon, and thy are all holos. I had to get this one, since how often do you see orange holos???
HITS Demeter - it's not a super strong holo, but the sparkles are there.
Anyone else come across different and unique holos?
Cheers!
HITS can be purchased at Llarowe's shop.

China Glaze Papaya Punch and Lynnderella Cauldron Drippings
I'm back from vacation! We went to Cuba as a family and therefore, my nails needed to be fabulous. Obviously, bright orange was the clear answer. I recently got some of the China Glaze Island Escape collection (in preparation for my trip, natch), and I decided on the delightful Papaya Punch for my fingers.
It is a bright orange, but the formula. Oh, the formula. I was so disappointed. It was thick and goopy, but it didn't cover evenly. I needed three coats! Just... I don't know China Glaze.
I also felt that it needed more of a touch of something extra, because I am anything if subtle. Ha. So I added a layer of Lynnderella's Cauldron Drippings.
According to my family, my nails were definitely bright! I think "high on acid" might also have been thrown around at some point, but I take that as a compliment.
This manicure lasted 3 days. I think the chlorine from the pool plus the sun plus salt water plus... it started to chip and then I promptly peeled it off. It was nice while it lasted!
All in all, except for the formula misstep which is so rare for China Glaze, I enjoyed this acid trip. Sparkly AND super bright. Score!
