Nail Polish Canada Nail Art Contest Week 2!

This week's theme for the Nail Art Contest for Nail Polish Canada is: Presents! Stockings! Things you want!

What do I want? I want a perfect Christmas story! (Don't give up on me, yet)

I might have also decided to use all my jewels! Anyhoodle, my Christmas Story:

Thumb: A beautiful new necklace!
Index: The necklace is wrapped...
Middle: ... and put under the tree waiting for me to enjoy it. I totally do, btw.
Ring: Gotta end the day with a bubble bath.
Pinky: And then pass out because it was the BEST CHRISTMAS EVER.

See? There's a real story there, ha!

What I used:

OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls for the bases
Thumb: Just jewels
Index: Nubar Fire Sparkle, OPI Goldeneye
Middle: Nicole by OPI Khloe had a Little Lam-Lam
Ring: A-England Galahad, China Glaze Electric Beat, Julep Jessica

Plus all sorts of assorted jewels!

Nail Polish Canada Contest!

So I JUST heard about this contest like 20 minutes ago, this might not be as well-planned as I hoped. But here we go, my snow theme nail art!

The base is OPI Happy Anniversary. The light blue is Julep Jessica, and the dark blue is Konad Blue. I used a BundleMonster plate for the snowflakes.
I should note I was pretty lucky I decided to do a snowflake design! We had a light snowfall this morning, so I was inspired!

I am doing this at my boyfriend's house, so I don't have any of my fonts :(

Good luck to everyone!

Nubar Blueberry and Konad m57

This Konad plate, m57, is super popular. And I totally understand why: Zebra? Fishnet? Leopard? SIGN ME UP. But it also has a really cute side design of flowers. Which I totally used on top of Nubar Blueberry, an adorable jelly from their Jellybeans (!) collection.

See how cute?

I used Konad white, silver, light blue and purple pearl. Isn't it too cute? Blueberry applied well, good formula. This is three coats.

Cheers!

A-England Morgan Le Fey and Konad m64

Ugh. Computer problems. I have to borrow my sister's laptop and none of the fonts are right and the settings are all off and... Ugh. Exactly. But with no further ado:

A England Morgan Le Fey with Konad m64

Love it. Konad drives my camera crazy... I can never get a still shot! But I love this combo.

Morgan Le Fey is an excellent shimmery white. It is marketed as a top coat, so it is quite sheer. This is about 4 coats.

Now for Konad: My nails are gigantic. That means that Konad doesn't like me. Designs like this I can get away with as they are easy to touch up. Intense patterns like houndstooth or fishnet? It gets 3/4 of my nail and that is it. Good luck trying to match that up for the remaining part of the nail. I want to love you, Konad, why won't you let me? Anyone else have this problem?

Cheers!

Zoya Neeka and Konad m64

I had trouble deciding on a colour today. I wanted something fun, but a little muted for winter (the weather here is depressingly cold). Enter Zoya Neeka. This is a lovely muted/dirty dark lilac with silver microglitter (more of a shimmer). It is from their Smoke and Mirror Collection.

I wanted to spice it up a little, so I got one of my Konad plates, m64, and used the flower stamp. And what colour goes perfect with purple? A nice silver, of course!

No flash. Sorry for the blurry. I might need a better camera. :(

With flash. The design comes up juuuust nicely.
Suffice it to say, I LOVE this combo! Purple and silver are the bee's knees, y'all. This flower design is almost lacy and just so delicate. Makes my class-less self look almost (ALMOST) classy, until I use these gorgeous nails to make a rude gesture. Then the jig is up but UNTIL THEN I AM A CLASSY LADY.

*Ahem*

Carry on, nothing to see here.

OPI and Konad

I've recently become quite interested in Konad stamping nail art. It seems so rife with possibility, I have to try!

So here I have Konad plate m57 - it has zebra stripes, leopard spots, fishnet grid, and some lacy bars. This one is pretty popular. I used zebra with black Konad polish. This is over 2 coats of OPI DS Signature, a cute holographic pink.

Konad has a lot of potential, but I definitely need lots of practice! I also have huge nails, according to these stampers. I would get about 75% of the nail in one go, and then top it up afterwards. I also also might be a bit too clumsy for Konad, the thick polish got everywhere on my hands. I tried to clean up my cuticles after, but this was the best I could do.

All in all, I see a lot of potential with Konad. I got a few plates plus some BundleMonster plates and an assortment of Konad colours. This turned out to be rather adorable!
