The Glittering Crowd

I had a party this weekend so I wanted SPARKLE. And SPARKLE is what I got! I decided to layer Lynnderella's The Glittering Crowd over Kat Von D's Mad Max.

LOVE IT. I got a ton of compliments! The Glittering Crowd seems to have every single possible glitter in it. Circle, square, hex, bar and in tons of colours! But pictures will show you...

Look at that giant gold piece on my middle finger!
Like any glitter, it can be a bit difficult to spread evenly. This is one coat where I put a big "splotch" on my nail and then spread it around. I topped it with one coat of Seche Vite and it became pretty smooth.

SO MUCH GLITTER. Great for parties!

Kat Von D

I head over to my local Sephora to stalk some Nails Inc polishes (Bloomsbury Square is SOLD OUT. *Tear*), but what do I see? Kat Von D polishes! She has a limited edition set of 4, and I purchased two: Mad Max and Sparklehorse.

Sparklehorse is a bright lemon yellow with a great shimmer. Mad Max is a fantastic bright blue shimmer with a purple flash/duochrome. The other two colours were nice but not nice enough to tempt me. One major note: these are SUPER expensive! These were $15 each, and they are MINI bottles! Deborah Lippman costs me $22 a bottle and it's a better deal. But.... these colours are wonderful so mine they became!

With Flash - it's not this teal-y

No flash - you can see the purple in the bottle

You can really see the purple in the bottle here
I love love love this colour. I kept staring at it ALL DAY and got lots of compliments at work :) Now, if it wasn't so darn expensive...

Lynderella!

Eeeek!

At llarowe's shop I was able to snag some oh-so-rare and oh-so-delicious Lynderella glitters!

I can't wait to play with them!

This morning I received The Glittering Crowd, Snow Angel and Bride of Franken. I can't wait to use them! The Glittering Crowd is DEFINITELY going to be used this weekend for a party.

You know you're jealous ;)

Harlow and Co Sirens Design!

So I finally got around to playing with the Limited Edition Harlow and Co Sirens. The colours are gorgeous and follow their theme perfectly! I decided to do all three colours in one manicure to really showcase the theme.

So here goes:

First up, Precious Calm which I used as a base.

Precious Calm - there is a lovely silver shimmer/micro glitter streak running through this. I used two coats, though if you are better than I am at painting, you could probably get away with one.

Bad Atmosphere - this is what I used to do the dot gradient. It is a gorgeous dirty/murky green, exactly like a stormy sea.

Sparkling Waters - Sparkle, sparkle! This is quite opaque for a glitter, my ring finger is only 1 coat. There is blue, silver and rainbow glitter and some medium silver hexagon pieces. It is a very rough glitter, as one coat of Seche Vite almost made it smooth. Definitely needs another layer of top coat to become smooth.

Overall, I really enjoy this collection. The colours are lovely and I enjoy how they all fit the theme of the dangerous Greek Sirens and the gorgeous waters.

Thanks to Harlow and Co for the making this lovely collection!

OPI French Quarter for Your Thoughts

I wanted to do a calm, neutral manicure for Friday/Saturday and this is what happened. I wanted a gray colour, and had a tough time deciding what I wanted. I went with OPI French Quarter for Your Thoughts from Touring America. It is a lovely greyish-taupe colour. I wanted a touch of sparkle, so I added Out the Door's Holographic Top Coat.

With Flash

No Flash
I used one coat of French Quarter For Your Thoughts (although two would be better. It was late and I wanted to go to bed), one coat INM Northern Lights Holographic Top Coat, one coat Seche Vite.

I love the subtle sparkle!

Harlow and Co Sirens!

What a coup!

I was lucky enough to snag a set of the exclusive Harlow and Co Sirens collection! Only 10 were put on sale!

Squeeee!
The colours are Bad Atmosphere, Precious Calm and Sparkling Waters. I can't wait to try them!

Check Harlow and Co out at Harlow and Co. Katie is a great e-seller for Canadians! She sells Ozotic, Nerd Lacquer and more (I really can't wait to try some Nerd Lacquer. I am a nerd of both science and polish.)

Perceval and Take The Stage Part Deux

So upon further reflection of my previous mani, I decided to try putting Essie's Matte About You over to see if I liked it any more. For me, it is still an "Enh" (my version of 'meh'). Didn't get any compliments for these nails at work :(

I do enjoy Matte About You, it makes manis a lot more interesting. Plus, it adds another day to manicures. Bonuses are always nice!
